My Story – How Cupcakes & Hugs Began

Cupcakes & Hugs was born during the uncertainty of the Covid lockdowns — a time when many of us were searching for comfort, creativity, and connection.

Like so many others, I found myself at home with extra time and a strong need to stay positive and productive. What started as simple home baking quickly turned into a passion. I became fascinated by floral cupcake designs and began teaching myself the art of piping, experimenting late into the evenings, learning through trial, error, and plenty of buttercream!

With each batch, my confidence grew. Friends and family started requesting cupcakes for birthdays and celebrations, and before long, what began as a lockdown hobby had grown into something much bigger. The joy on people’s faces when they received a box of beautifully decorated cupcakes was addictive — it wasn’t just cake, it was happiness in a box.

The name Cupcakes & Hugs reflects exactly what I wanted the brand to represent: comfort, care, creativity, and those little moments of joy that make life sweeter. Every bouquet, celebration cake, and cupcake box is still made with the same love, attention to detail, and passion that started it all.

From a kitchen table during lockdown to creating bespoke cupcake bouquets, corporate orders, and decorating workshops, this journey has been nothing short of incredible — and it’s only just beginning.
